 Chapter 6. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
 Article I. IN GENERAL

  § 6-4. Fees.

  • (a)

    City council shall establish a schedule of fees charges and expenses, and a collection procedure for alcoholic beverage location permits and renewals of alcoholic beverage location permits and other matters pertaining to this chapter. The schedule of fees shall be posted in the zoning department and may be altered or amended by city council only. The fees, charges and expenses shall be deposited in the general fund of the city to cover costs in connection with the process of such petition. No such fees shall be refunded except upon the showing of a mistake on the part of the city. The director shall have the authority to authorize the refunding of a fee pertaining to this chapter. In case of hardship upon the petitioner wherein the imposition of this fee is found to be unreasonable city council may waive the fee.

    (b)

    No permit shall be issued or renewed unless and until the required costs charges fees or expenses have been paid in full.

    (c)

    Fees are hereby established as follows:

    (1)

    New alcoholic beverage location permit $200.00.

    (2)

    Annual renewal fee for alcoholic beverage permits $100.00 (due and payable on or before October 1 of each year). If a permit holder fails to pay the annual renewal fee on or before October 1 of each year then the renewal fee shall be increased to $200.00 but only if paid on or before November 1 of each year. Thereafter the permit shall become void and a new location permit must be applied for pursuant to this chapter with the new location fee of $200.00. The voided permit holder must stop selling alcoholic beverages after November 1.

    (3)

    If a business is selling alcoholic beverages without a location permit or with a voided location permit after November 1 of each year, the owner of the business selling alcoholic beverages or the voided permit holder will be required to pay $300.00 for a new location permit plus $300.00 for every year selling alcoholic beverages without a location permit. A business that is selling alcoholic beverages without a location permit must stop selling alcoholic beverages immediately.

    (4)

    An administrative processing fee of $50.00 shall be charged to bona fide nonprofit civic organizations seeking a permit under subsection 6-33(e) in lieu of the $200.00 permit fee charged in subsection (c)(1) of this section. This administrative processing fee is for the single event applied for by the nonprofit civic organization and is not renewable. Subsequent events sponsored by the nonprofit civic organization must be applied for separately in advance of those events and shall be accompanied by the administrative processing fee of $50.00 for each event.
