§ 6-31. General restrictions; permit required.

  • (a)

    Alcoholic and intoxicating beverages may be sold within the areas of the city described in this section by vendors who are licensed by the state and who obtain a location permit issued by the city.

    (b)

    Alcoholic and intoxicating beverages may be sold in the following areas in the city:

    (1)

    Where the sale of alcoholic or intoxicating beverages is a permitted use under chapter 122 (the zoning ordinance) and where the licensed vendor seeking a location permit complies with the provisions of section 6-33(b).

    (c)

    Any individual, group of individuals or other legal entity holding a state license which provides for the sale of alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only shall keep and maintain signs prominently displayed on the premises stating, "WARNING: It Is Unlawful to Consume Alcoholic Beverages While On Property Controlled By This Business." These signs shall have a width of not less than 12 inches and a length of not less than 18 inches, with all lettering being at least one inch tall and of a color that contrasts distinctly with the background of the sign. Not less than one such sign shall be prominently displayed inside the business and not less than one such sign shall be prominently displayed on the exterior of the business.
