§ 46-187. Littering.

  • (a)

    Prohibited acts.

    (1)

    No person shall throw, drop or place in any park or recreation or park-owned facilities or public area any paper, trash, refuse, yard or garden waste, garbage or rubbish, old oil, gasoline or diesel fuel, cigarettes, cigars or other discarded material of any kind.

    (2)

    It shall be unlawful to deposit garbage, trash, yard or garden waste, bottles, cans or containers upon any city parks or recreation and parks facilities.

    (3)

    Concessionaires shall be responsible for picking up all litter associated with their concession operation. Failure to remove such waste will result in forfeiture of that concessionaire's right to operate on park property.

    (b)

    Penalty. Any person found violating any portion of subsection (a) of this section will be subject to a fine of $10.00 if paid within 48 hours, a fine of $15.00 if paid after 48 hours, and fine of $20.00 if paid after ten working days.
