§ 2-251. Appointment; qualifications.

The city attorney shall be elected by the city council at the second meeting in October of even-numbered years, to serve two years commencing November 1 thereafter. No one shall be elected who is not an attorney at law with at least five years' experience in practice of law in the courts of the state.
